First off Happy New Year Everyone! I was recently in Dallas and ventured into the Neiman Marcus Department store. I came across this escalator and the gold hue and the Buddhist statute struck me as a wonderful photograph because of the colors and lines. While thinking of something to write for this post It struck me that their must be some correlation between the Buddhist statue and these escalators. After looking into Buddhism some I realized that one of the main philosophies is that the world must be thought of in procedural terms and not in terms of things and substance. I thought this was quite ironic being that Neiman Marcus is all about things, substance and over indulging. Maybe seeing this Buddha is just supposed to make you feel a little bit better about that $2000 purse you just bought. Again, Happy New Year!
