I have been asked quite a lot if I shoot portraits. The answer to this question is yes, but don't expect the ordinary. I combine my art and photography to make unique portraits in natural settings. I combine textures and exposures to make portraits that don't look like they were made at the mall studio. Most of my shoots are on location and I take the surroundings that are given to make the best photos I can. The shots below are of an impromptu 15 minute photo shoot of a 6 month old that came to visit my mothers house. I had the baby's mom position her daughter so she was facing some light coming through a glass door. It was perfect, direct, diffused light and captured the babies eyes perfectly. I also am a sucker for shooting toddlers. I just love capturing the completely unforced expressions. You know there is never a fake smile. The expressions on the face are true and genuine! Oh and by the way are these baby's eyes something else or what!

Jason,
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! You are amazing. Thank you so much for taking some pictures of our little one. It was so good to see you this weekend. We need to try to get together again. It is a shame we only see each other once or twice a year. Also, I would love to see some pictures you did of her and I together. I think you told Linda how I could view them.
Thanks again and take care,
Shanna

Jason,
ReplyDeleteYou can email me at shannasmartin@yahoo.com. I already went to your link MJS on the side and found so many pictures of Payton I am going to order. Also, I know this is a ways a way, but I would love it if you would shoot Payton's 1 year old pictures. We would of course pay you your going rate. Also, Payton loved Ms. Olivia. She is so big and so beautiful.
Talk to you soon,
Shanna
Jason - these are a unique set of portrait shots and takes out the monotony of the studio shots.
